Ah, Chicago winter. It's lovely and I don't really mind the cold except...my building is really old. Tonight's projects were to do some crafting and warm up the kitchen. The water lines run up an outside wall. I'm going to bed leaving the tap dripping (something I feel REALLY guilty about but better guilt than no water in the morning), undersink cabinets open, and planning on getting up early to bake some more cookies.

In other news, the Fantine sweater is frogged three times and knit down to the armholes.

And I have a black wool skirt with a flounce on the cutting board (okay, on the floor). Welcome to my three day weekend!

Hey, sounds like a nice evening. I'm around tomorrow afternoon if you want to look at that pattern. Give a call on my cell. I'll be good to go at 2:30.

I suppose if life gives you pipes that might freeze and below zero temps, then you simply must make cookies and cakes. Really, what else could you do? I believe in ANY excuse for cookies. Or coffee cake. Or cup cakes. Or bar cookies. Or brownies. In batches...Preferably topped with vanilla ice cream and served with tea.

Send me an email to thumpz2 at yahoo dot com 'cause I hate conversing through blogger comments. My computer is rather, how shall I put it, "retro" and can't handle it some days. Or maybe it's just the stinky security software the hubby installed that has eaten up all of my virtual memory and then some...Anyway, I'd love your Grammie's recipe for coffee cake :) It's cold here in Phoenix, too. I actually had to turn on the heat last night.

Better to drip the water than to have frozen pipes which will spray the water... It all returns to the earth in time. There is no real waste.

The cookies look yummy! One of the best things I've done is teach my kids to cook. They all love making desserts in particular! This past weekend I made a german chocolate cake with them for the middle one's birthday. Tonight we finished the last of the cupcakes I made from extra batter.

Be crafty, be very crafty and keep warm!
