
After sewing all the pairs of light and dark strips together, sew them into tube (with light/dark right sides in, opposing).

Then cut the tube using a quarter square ruler (I have the Omnigrid 98L).

Then pick out the top stitches of the quarter square and open- and voila, a quarter square!

With the wild colors in this Arcadia roll, I think I may go for some cream sashing to make the finished blocks look mildly related. It's cool, but not the look I was hoping for. Maybe when I finish all the quarter squares (and have more to choose from) it will look better.
