I love gadgets, and a while ago I purchased this awesome Quilt Wizard. At least, I thought it would be awesome- so tonight I busted it out.

The clear foot is some sort of master foot, the package I bought has the "scant quarter inch seam" and "stitch in the ditch" attachments. My new machine has a nice mark on the bobbin cover (um, that's probably not the exact term) that gives a quarter-inch, but having the edge to push against made it much easier. The arm was bent when I opened it, so I gave it to my sweetie. He straightened it by heating the plastic over the stove (not quite what I had in mind), then dipped it in cool water. Perfect.

I measured, and it worked. I'm about half done with the initial joining of squares- chain stitching to go faster, and also because I love fabric buntings. The fabric for the border should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. What is this I'm feeling...optimism? *grin* You'll read about it here, dear readers!

PS Isn't the LED light on my machine cool? Not so sure I actually like it for seeing fabric, but it gives a nifty effect to pictures.
