I left the handsewing (tacking down the bias tape on the inside and tacking down the waist, and putting on the snaps) for the plane ride.
This is the first time I've done a lapped closure- it didn't seem like it would work when I was making it, but now I love the look!
The little girl we are seeing tomorrow night if all goes as planned is a little one, though- only 14 pounds at her checkup two weeks ago. I hope it fits her at some point. :)

Thanks for the well wishes for my mom. She's better and back at the nursing home. It's been a rough week but it has been made better with friends like you.
