(yep, that's the wall- like I said, some work to be done!)

I forgot to bring over curtain rods, though, so I had to improvise. A quick rummage in the trunk of my car brought up my emergency bungee cords. Turns out they are perfect to hang a curtain! I just have to hope I don't have any bungee cord requiring emergencies before tomorrow after work when I can bring over the real curtain rods. Moral of this posting: stash is really really useful.
They are wrinkled and bagged out of shape, but from the outside (this is the second floor) they look just great. And since each curtain cost about $3 in materials, I won't be upset when they get filthy with construction dust. By upset, I clearly mean, feel like I should launder the curtains. (heehee)

I always wonder why I am saving fabrics, old clothes, etc... Lately, I have stashed away clothing that I keep thinking I'll remake into things for my grands. The Easter dress remake for our oldest grand is what got me thinking in this direction, I guess.
You are very ingenious!!
congrats on your house!! Where did you buy?
Thanks for the link to the ASG chicago blog. I didn't know they had one. One of these days I want to go to a meeting, too. Seems like a great way to meet other sewists and to get some inspiration and tips!
Brilliant use of bungee. Lehu would be so proud...she does love those bungees.
